Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae – call for papers: “Phyllotaxis and related topics”

Research in phyllotaxis spans two centuries. Over the last decade, it has been reinforced with studies that reveal molecular-level mechanisms of phyllotaxis, as well as new computational models and mathematical analyses. In view of these developments, we believe that a snapshot of current results, work and perspectives on phyllotaxis would be of significant interest. We invite contributions (original articles, review articles, and short communications) including, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • phyllotaxis and patterning of stem vasculature,
  • phyllotaxis vs. patterning of leaf shape,
  • phyllotactic patterns in flowers and inflorescences,
  • phyllotaxis and floral dimorphism,
  • phyllotaxis and quasicrystals,
  • biochemistry and biophysics of phyllotaxis,
  • mathematical and computatiohnal models of phyllotaxis,
  • optimality of phyllotactic patterns,
  • robustness of phyllotactic patterns,
  • unusual phyllotactic patterns.

Accepted papers will be published in a special open access issue on “Phyllotaxis and related topics” of the journal Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae (ASBP; https://pbsociety.org.pl/journals/index.php/asbp/index) according to the following schedule:

  • Expression of interest: March 15, 2016
  • Abstract (tentative; sent to the editors’ emails provided below): June 30, 2016
  • Submission (via the online editorial system): September 30, 2016
  • Reviewer’s feedback: October 31, 2016
  • Final paper due: November 30, 2016
  • Publication of accepted articles: December 30, 2016 (ASBP 4th issue)

Journal policies (including guidelines for manuscript preparation, fees) are available at: https://pbsociety.org.pl/journals/index.php/asbp/about

You will find a dedicated section for the manuscripts to be submitted for the issue – “Phyllotaxis and related topics”.
