Editorial policies and author guidelines
It is the oldest scientific journal promoting all aspects of plant science, functioning continuously (with the exception of WWII) in Poland since 1923. The journal offers open access publication of original research papers, short communications and reviews, written in English, in all areas of plant science including evolution, ecology, genetics, plant structure and development, physiology and biochemistry.
The journal is indexed in (among others):
- Science Citation Index Expanded; according to the Journal Citation Reports, the 2-year 2021 Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is 1.123, 5-year JIF is 1.387
- Scopus
- Directory of Open Access Journals
Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae logo symbolizes journal activity. It compares new results of research published continuously by the journal to the lateral organ primordia formation by the shoot apical meristem during its indeterminate growth. Not unlike the content of the journal the primordia layout is unique. Claimed to be impossible is in fact exclusive. Its presence was lately confirmed by empirical data and results of computer simulations.
