Journal History

Acta Agrobotanica has been published since 1953. In 2007 the format and graphic layout of the journal were changed. Until 2010 it was published as a semiannual, but since 2011 four issues per year have come out regularly. Acta Agrobotanica publishes only original research papers concerning the biology of cultivable or wild plants in English (since 2007); papers were earlier published in Polish and English as well as in several congress languages. For years, the journal has been edited by Janina Lekczyńska and Stanisław Wóycicki (1953–1970), Janina Lekczyńska and Zofia Starck (1970–1979), Leszek Jankiewicz and Marian Saniewski (1980–1982), Marian Saniewski and Adam Dobrzański (1982–1983), Leszek Jankiewicz and Marian Saniewski (1984), Marian Saniewski and Adam Dobrzański (1985–1992), Marian Saniewski (1993–1998), Janusz Lipecki (1999–2004), Elżbieta Weryszko-Chmielewska (2005–2015). Bożena Denisow has been the Editor-in-Chief since 2015.

Until 2012, electronic versions of the articles were published on the website of the W. Szafer Institute of Botany PAS. Since 2016 the journal has been published exclusively in electronic edition.
