A morphogenetic study of sporangia-partitioning complex

Abstract


The bilobed sporangia in the species of Anthoceros, Isoetes and Ophioglossum are described. The morphogenetic importance of the process of "fission" in evolutionary development of sporangia in pteridophytes is discussed.
