Water content in terricolous lichens

Anna Matwiejuk

Abstract

Investigations of the 24-hour absorption and evaporation in Cetraria ericetorum, Cetraria islandica, Cladina mitis, Cladina rangiferina, Cladonia furcata, Cladonia phyllophora were carrided out. A high correlation was found between these processes and weather conditions and especially 24-hour changes in relative air humidity and changes in temperature. These processes are correlated independently of the season of the year.
