Abstract

Morphology and physiology of strains of Cryptococcus laurentii var. magnus and C. albidus var. albidus isolated from winter wheat seeds was studied. It was concluded on the basis of morphological similarity that these fungi were closely related. Resting spores of a "dangeardien'' type were found in C. laurentii, while in some cultures of C. albidus unusually large resting spores were dis00vered.
