Abstract

Weed contamination of the arable layer (0-30 cm deep) of the mountain wheat complex, mountain cereal complex and mountain oat-potato complex was studied in south-eastern Poland. Most of the weed seeds were found in soils of the mountain wheat complex and the smallest number was found in soils of the mountain oat-potato complex. The weed seeds in each complex mostly belonged to short lasting species which occurred mainly to the IV and V degree of phytosociological stability.
