As part of the modernization of the PBS publishing practices, we have updated a deposit policy so that authors can now post early versions of a manuscript, i.e., preprint and postprint, online (in digital repositories and personal websites), with the exception that the preprint shouldn’t be available during the review process in any of the Society’s publication to comply with double-blind review requirements.
Please read the copyright notice at PBS editorial platform.
Updated information on the author’s rights to share the work is also available on the SHERPA RoMEO website: https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/id/publisher/1653
Submission deadline to the “Recent developments in taxonomy and phylogeny of plants” issue to be published in Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae in September 2020 has been prolonged to May 31, 2020.
Polish Botanical Society has launched official profile on Twitter: https://twitter.com/polbotsoc
We encourage everyone to follow us!
Acta Agrobotanica has been included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, being part of the Web of Science Core Collection produced by Clarivate Analytics.
Indexing in the database further increases discoverability of the papers published in the journal and potentially their citations.
In this post, important issues related to modernization of the Polish Botanical Society publishing practices are being emphasized, which aims to further improve the standard of the editorial process, having regard also to Plan S. This process will take place in several stages, and subsequent updates will be presented in this post (beginning from the latest updates).

The new issues of Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae and Acta Agrobotanica have been published on the PBS editorial platform. They are already available in the XML JATS format (see below).
Updated instructions for authors have been just published on the PBS editorial platform. They are valid until the change of the editorial management system, but the key requirements such as in-text citations and reference list format will remain afterwards. We ask authors to prepare the manuscripts according to the new guidelines.
Modern plant taxonomy is an extensive field that is increasingly benefiting from the achievements of many other fields of biological sciences, such as genetics, cytology, molecular biology, ecology, phytogeography, and paleobotany. The influence of these branches of science on plant taxonomy is expressed not only through a significant multiplication of information and detailed data, but also by new phylogenetic concepts. Reconstructing phylogenetic compounds that unite all lines is a great challenge. The process of describing a new species is considered equivalent to generating a new hypothesis in phylogenesis. Hence taxonomy and phylogenetics are inseparably connected with each other. Advances in taxonomy and phylogenetic taxonomy have inspired us to designate a special issue of Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae for them. Therefore, we cordially invite contributions (original articles, review articles, and short communications) focused on alpha taxonomy, evolutionary and numerical taxonomy, and phylogenetics including the following areas:

We are pleased to announce launching of digital repository of the Polish Botanical Society.
The service is available at https://pbsociety.org.pl/repository/
Repository is a database of documents related to the history of the Society and its ongoing initiatives. It will gather official publications and so-far unpublished materials, which constitute documentation of the Society’s scientific, popularizing, and organizational activities.
Submission deadline to the “Biostimulation and biofortification of crop plants” issue to be published in the Acta Agrobotanica journal in June 2019 has been prolonged to December 31, 2018.
On behalf of the organizers, we invite you to take part in the conference entitled “Forest at risk: Białowieża and beyond”.
